Compassionate Counseling That Feels Collaborative

My approach is warm, practical, and grounded in respect. As a licensed professional counselor, I help clients slow down, notice what is happening beneath the surface, and better understand the emotions, beliefs, needs, and relationship patterns that may be keeping them stuck.

You will not be expected to arrive with everything figured out. We will talk openly about what has been difficult, what you would like to change, and what kind of support feels useful.

I believe counseling works best when you are involved in the process. We will check in about your goals, your progress, and whether you need a different pace or approach. My role is to offer support, honest feedback, and a steady place to work through concerns without judgment.

What Our Work Together Can Look Like

People begin counseling for many reasons. You may be dealing with anxiety, grief, stress, burnout, relationship concerns, infidelity, intimacy issues, identity questions, or changes that have made life feel less steady.

You might feel overwhelmed by life changes, unsure how to communicate what you need, or frustrated by reactions that seem difficult to control. You may also know that something feels wrong even when you are not yet sure how to explain it.

Our work may include understanding emotional reactions, noticing repeated patterns, improving communication, setting healthier boundaries, and practicing new ways of responding. We can look at the deeper reasons a problem keeps returning while also identifying practical steps that make daily life feel more manageable.

The goal is not to change who you are. The goal is to help you understand yourself more clearly and make choices that better support your life and relationships.

Personal Tools for Daily Life

Talking through a concern is important, but counseling can also include skills you can practice outside of appointments. The personal tools we use will depend on your goals, needs, and comfort level.

Sessions may include ways to calm strong emotional reactions, communicate more clearly, question unhelpful beliefs, set boundaries, prepare for difficult conversations, or recognize patterns before they become overwhelming.

Some tools may feel useful right away. Others may take time and practice. We will focus on strategies that make sense for your life rather than giving you a one-size-fits-all list of exercises.

Between sessions, you may choose to notice a pattern, try a communication skill, write down a reaction, or practice responding differently in a familiar situation. These steps can help connect what happens in counseling with the challenges you face in daily life.

Who I Work With

I work with adults, couples, men, LGBTQ clients, and people moving through stress, relationship concerns, infidelity, intimacy concerns, grief, burnout, and life transitions.

Some clients come to counseling with a specific concern they want to address. Others feel stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about what needs to change. Both are valid places to begin.

Each person brings a different history, set of strengths, and reason for reaching out. Your sessions will be shaped around your goals rather than a fixed plan that is used for everyone.
